Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic Care is a natural method of health care that treats the causes of physical problems rather than the symptoms. Your body has the ability to heal itself through an improved lifestyle that includes a well functioning nervous system, healthy joints and spine. A Chiropractor gently realigns your spine to release pressure on your nerves so that you can function at your optimum level.
Chiropractic Doctors offer various techniques such as low-force and non-force, joint rehabilitation, soft tissue Somato Therapy, Neuro-Emotional Technique and Bio-energetic Synchronization.
Chiropractors offer knowledge in nutrition, supplements, movement therapy and may provide a comprehensive lifestyle plan and treatment for conditions such as sports injuries, joint/ spine injuries, muscle strains, post-surgical rehabilitation, allergies, headaches and many more.
Movement Therapy/ Balance Training
Movement Therapy is aimed at promoting health and recovery from disabling conditions, accidents, chronic neurological/muscular conditions such as strokes, Parkinson’s, MS and Alzheimer’s. Various tailored modalities are utilized in the treatment of these types of conditions including physical exercises, balance and strengthening movements.
Tai Chi/Chi Gong
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art practice that pulls the forces of the mind and body together. Through graceful movements, the body integrates the breath and movements into a continuum of energy called “chi.” These movements can strengthen the body physically and improve flexibility. Studies have shown that Tai Chi can benefit patients with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. Tai Chi can also be modified for seniors to where it can be performed in a seated position.
Yoga
Yoga is an exercise which strengthens and unifies the mind and the body. A series of stretches and movements are incorporated into a routine that focuses on the breath and body posture. Yoga calms the mind and tones the body, hence creating a sense of mental and physical balance. Yoga can also be modified for seniors to where it can be performed just as effectively in a seated position.
Pilates
Pilates is a series of movements and exercises that are aimed on body awareness and efficiency. The movements are designed to strengthen and lengthen muscles, open joints and release tension. This form of movement therapy is often used for physical rehabilitation after a brain or body injury, athletic training and for general optimum physical well being.
Equilibrium/ Brain -Body Integration
This technique provides tools to re-establish a strong brain-body connection. This modality can address learning disabilities in children and adults, neurological or emotional imbalances, body balance issues and brain sensory overload. A series of movements and written exercises are individualized for each presenting condition and monitored for a designated period of time. This technique is often used for children with learning disabilities, adults with ADD, neurological disorders and as an adjunct therapy to stroke rehabilitation.
